Agartala, May 29: Newly appointed Tripura BJP president Abhishek Debroy on Friday outlined his organisational vision for the party, emphasizing discipline, ideological commitment and stronger coordination between senior and young workers to further strengthen the BJP at the grassroots level.

Addressing Karyakartas during a felicitation programme held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala, Debroy urged BJP functionaries to exercise restraint and responsibility while using social media platforms.

He cautioned party workers against engaging in making anti-party comments on social media (he termed it Facebook trial) stating that internal grievances should be raised within the party framework instead of being aired publicly on social media platforms.

“If we are true workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party, if we love the party, we must stop the culture of delivering anti-party comments social media,” he said, while appealing to party members to maintain organisational discipline and unity.

Highlighting the BJP’s internal accountability structure, Debroy said the central leadership keeps track of activities within the organisation at every level. He reminded party leaders and workers that positions within the organisation are temporary and that every individual entrusted with responsibility must discharge duties with dedication and commitment to party ideology.

“Merely saying ‘Bharat Mata Ki Joy’ is not enough; one must reflect BJP in conduct and behaviour as well,” he remarked, calling upon party workers to carry this message to the grassroots level of the organization.

Emphasising organisational expansion and unity, Debroy said his primary objective would be to build a stronger party by ensuring coordination between seniors and young workers. He also urged Karyakartas to work with the spirit of “Nation First, Self Last”, describing it as the guiding principle for BJP.

The programme was attended by outgoing state BJP president and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, ministers, MLAs, and district and mandal-level party representatives.

Earlier in the day, Debroy formally assumed charge as the new state BJP president from Rajib Bhattacharjee during a brief ceremony held at the party’s state headquarters in Agartala.
