Security issues: Tripura CM asks DGP to act strict in Bodhjungnagar industrial estate

Agartala, Aug 20: Chief Minister of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday asked the Director General of Police to act strict against the trouble mongers and keep a close watch on security issues in Bodhjungnagar industrial complex.
Dr. Saha said, police are not taking action even after receiving several complaints with CCTV footage; it should not happen.
The Chief Minister visited the industrial complex and interacted with the workforce and industrialists there to workout policies to further improve the facilities in order to attract more investment in Tripura for its economic growth and employment generation.
He took a strong exception on the law and order related issues in the industrial estate and asked the police to ensure safety of the industrialists.
According to a government press release, Dr. Saha said, to build self-reliant Tripura, the government has taken multiple steps to ensure growth in the industrial sector and expansion of trade.
He said, “the police have to keep strict watch to ensure safety of the industrialists.”
The Chief Minister also directed TSECL authority to keep continuous power supply in the Industrial Estate. He asked the TIDC to reopen all those industry units in the area that have been already closed.
During his visit to Bodhjungnagar industrial estate, the Chief Minister was accompanied by TIDC Chairman Tinku Roy, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, Tripura Police chief Amitabh Ranjan, secretary of Home department Saradindu Choudhury, special secretary of Industries and Commerce department Abhishek Chandra, West Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan and SDM Jirania Jiban Krishna Acharjee.
