Seven National Panchayat Awards for Tripura, CM hails

Agartala, Dec 06: In a strong display of transformative efforts in Panchayati-Raj System, Tripura has secured seven National Panchayat Awards. The total award money amounts to Rs. 10 crore.

President of India will present the awards at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on December 11 next.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha in a social media post hailed the achievement. He mentioned, this significant achievement reflects the state government's commitment to good governance and transformative development in citizens' lives.

The Chief Minister also congratulated the elected representatives and officials of three-tier panchayats for their sincere efforts in delivering good governance to the people.

The awards are following:

Best District in the Country: Gomati District – award money ₹5 crore.

Second Best Block in the Country: Amarpur RD Block – award money ₹1.75 crore.

Best Women-Friendly Panchayat in the Country: Dakshin Manubankul, Rupaichhari RD Block – award money ₹1 crore.

Special Award for Second Best Energy-Efficient Panchayat: Thakurchhara, Amarpur RD Block – award money ₹0.75 crore.

Third Prizes for Special Categories: 

Poverty-Free and Enhanced Livelihood Village: Betcherra, Kumarghat RD Block, Adequate Water Supply Village: Debbari, Amarpur RD Block, Child-Friendly Village: Rankang, Amarpur RD Block – each awarded ₹0.50 crore.
