Agartala, Jan 02: The state government has given promotion to several top cops including Puneet Rastogi. 

A 1995-batch IPS, Rastogi has been awarded DGP scale after completion of 30 years of service.

The promotion list also included A Ramesh Reddy, an IPS of 2007 batch. He has been promoted to the rank of IGP while three IPS officers of 2021 batch have been promoted to the rank of DIG. They are- Prabir Majumdar, Ratiranjan Debnath and Sanjay Roy.

Besides, Subrata Chakrabarty and Dilip Roy got the rank of senior SP.

One more 2011 batch IPS officer- Sankar Debnath was also in the list of promotion to the rank of DIG but for some pending enquiry the promotion was withheld.

According to sources, the promotion of these officers would meet the shortage of officers at higher ranks.
