Several IPS, TPS officers transferred in Tripura

The Tripura government on Saturday implemented a significant reshuffle in the state police, transferring a good number of officers across various ranks, including senior IPS and TPS officers.

The move comes as part of a strategic administrative overhaul aimed at strengthening law enforcement and operational efficiency across the state. It was a first such major reshuffle in Tripura Police since Anurag Dhankar took over as DGP.

Among the notable changes, Rati Ranjan Debnath, DIGP (Northern Range), has been given additional responsibility as DIGP, AP (OPS-II). In this new role, he will oversee the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th, 13th, and 15th battalions of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR), a key paramilitary force in the state.

Desai Rushikesh Jaysing, previously Asst SP of North Tripura and attached to West Tripura, has been made as Additional SP of Gomati district.

In another key change, Kishan Kumar, SP MTF, has been posted as SP of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), replacing Timir Das, who will now take over as SP of MTF.

The reshuffle also impacted several officers at the Additional SP and SDPO levels.

Dhruva Nath, Additional SP (Rural), West Tripura, has been moved to the Urban wing, while Himadri Prasad Das, Deputy SP in TPCB, to take over Nath’s rural post.

Several Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) have also been reassigned. Shankar Das, SDPO of Amtali, will now serve as Deputy Commandant of the 11th Battalion TSR. Parmita Pandey, Deputy SP in the Special Branch, will succeed him as SDPO Amtali.

Kamal Debbarma, SDPO Kumarghat, has been appointed Additional SP of North Tripura, while Tohiton Tripura, SDPO of Ompi, has been posted as Deputy Commandant of the DAR in Dhalai.

Raju Reang, SDPO of Manu, transferred to the Special Branch as Deputy SP. Utpalendu Debnath, Dy. SP (Probationer), Unakoti, has been made SDPO Kumarghat. Nourbahadur Reang, Dy. SP of Sepahijala, has now been posted as SDPO Ompi. Prasenjit Roy, Dy. SP of Khowai, has been posted as SDPO Manu and Sumudra Debbarma, Dy. SP of Dhalai, has been posted as SDPO Kamalpur.

This large-scale reshuffle is expected to revitalize the state’s policing framework, with the officers set to bring in fresh approaches to security, intelligence, and public service delivery across Tripura.
