Special Operations: Tripura Police destroys ganja plants worth Rs. 5.5 cr

Agartala, Jan 04: As part of Neshamukt Tripura campaign, Sepahijala district police destroyed around 55,000 matured ganja plants in two special operations carried out in various locations on Tuesday.

Acting on a secret information, Sepahijala District Police launched the two special operations for destruction on ganja plants in Sonamura sub-division.

The Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Sonamura along with staff of Jatrapur police station and TSR personnel carried out raid at Manaipathar area and destroyed around 35000 matured ganja plants in 5 plots of land measuring 8 acres.

In the second operation, the SDPO Sonamura along with other police and TSR personnel raided Uttar Aralia area under Sonamura police station and destroyed around 20,000 matured ganja plants in 5 separate plots on 3 acres land.

According to police, the combined market value of destroyed Ganja plants is Rs. 5.5 crore approximately.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha lauded the dedicated efforts of Tripura Police towards the goal of building Neshamukt Tripura.
