Startup Tripura partners with Skyroot to open Space-Tech pathways for Northeast talent

Agartala, Aug 18: Startup Tripura has taken a major step toward connecting the state’s young engineers with India’s private space sector through a talent outreach initiative with Skyroot Aerospace.

The campaign, “Skyroot for North East Talent,” aims to identify, encourage and connect students, engineers and aspiring innovators from Tripura and the wider Northeast with opportunities in aerospace and space technology. Its central message—“The next Indian rocket may be built by engineers from Agartala”—places local talent at the heart of India’s growing space ambitions.

Startup Tripura’s role is significant in bringing this opportunity closer to the region’s students and technical professionals. By collaborating with Skyroot Aerospace, the state’s startup ecosystem is creating a direct channel for Northeast talent to engage with one of India’s leading private rocket-development companies.

The initiative reflects Startup Tripura’s continuing effort to expand opportunities beyond conventional employment by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and advanced-technology careers. It seeks to inspire young people to move from classrooms to launchpads—contributing ideas, skills and research to India’s space-tech future.

The campaign is expected to increase awareness of potential pathways in areas including aerospace engineering, rocket propulsion, avionics, software systems, satellite technologies, testing and manufacturing. It also reinforces Startup Tripura’s vision of positioning Tripura’s youth as contributors to national technology missions and India’s expanding innovation economy.
