A Special Task Force (STF) has been constituted in West Tripura district to identify illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar for deportation.
The 15-member STF will act for detecting, identifying and deporting the Bangladesh nationals and Rohingyas settled in the West Tripura district, as per the official notification issued undersigned by Superintendent of Police, West- Dr. Kiran Kumar K.
The Special Task Force included Debasish Saha, DySP DIB West, Paritosh Das, OC West Agt PS, Rana Chaterjee, OC East Agartala PS, Prajit Malakar, OC NCC PS, Krishnadhan Sarkar, OC Bodhjungnaghar PS, Abhijit Mandal, OC Airport PS, Amal Debbarma, OC Mandwai PS, Raju Datta, OC Jirania PS, Sashanka Das, OC Ranirbazar PS, Rajkumar Jamatia, OC Radhapur PS, Mangesh Patari, OC Sidhai PS, Sahadeb Das, OC Lefunga PS, Himadri Sarkar, OC Amtali PS, Bijoy Das, OC A.D. Nagar PS and Dilip Debbarma, OC Srinagar PS. Meanwhile, some of the police officers listed in the team were transferred to new locations on Thursday.
The notification said, if a person identified as an illegal Bangladeshi National/Rohingya after the enquiry, the respective team members shell immediately ensure the capture of their biometrics (Fingerprint and facial photographs) and demographic details on the foreigners identification portal https://identification.mha.gov.in of MHA.
After Capturing of biometrics (fingerprints and facial photographs) and demographic details, the illegal immigrants shall be handed over to the designated officers of BSF for deportation/send-back to their native land. The Dy SP DIB has been asked to ensure collection and compilation of weekly, fortnightly and monthly basis data in this regard for ready reference.
According to official sources, a state-level Special Task Force would soon be formed headed by an SP-level officer for dealing with deal with detection and deportation of illegal immigrants. Besides, similar STFs are being formed in the remaining seven districts.
