Agartala, May 8: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) on Friday announced the results of the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations for the 2026 academic session, with overall pass percentages of 84.18 and 79.33 respectively. However, the Board refrained from publishing the merit lists this year citing unspecified reasons.
Addressing a press conference, TBSE President Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury said a total of 32,184 students appeared in the Madhyamik examination, including 14,769 boys and 17,415 girls. Out of them, 27,094 candidates successfully cleared the examination, comprising 12,320 boys and 14,774 girls.
Among the sub-divisions, Karbook emerged as the top-performing area with an impressive pass percentage of 97.91, while Gandacherra registered the lowest success rate at 68.81 percent. The Board informed that 271 schools achieved a perfect 100 percent pass result, whereas five schools failed to produce a single successful candidate.
In the Higher Secondary examination, 26,502 students appeared, including 12,307 boys and 14,195 girls. A total of 21,024 candidates passed the examination, of whom 9,411 were boys and 11,613 were girls, taking the overall success rate to 79.33 percent.
Jampuijala subdivision recorded the best performance in the Higher Secondary category with a pass percentage of 78.16, while Gandacherra again remained at the bottom with 56.85 percent. Altogether, 60 schools secured a 100 percent pass rate, while one institution recorded complete failure.
TBSE officials further announced that the Bachar Bachao examination will be held after two months. Students willing to apply for review or re-evaluation can download the prescribed forms from the Board’s official website and submit them to their respective schools within seven days. The schools will subsequently forward the applications to the Board authorities.
The Board also informed that mark-sheets and certificates would be distributed shortly through the respective institutions.
TBSE Secretary Dr. Jaydip Bhattacharjee and other senior officials were present during the press briefing.
