Three newly-born Royal Bengal Tiger cubs bring fresh excitement to Sepahijala Zoo

Agartala, Oct 07: A delightful new chapter has begun at Sepahijala Zoological Park, where three Royal Bengal Tiger cubs are all set to capture the hearts of visitors. Born at the zoo on August 30 and 31, the cubs are now growing up under care and are ready to become the latest attraction for wildlife lovers.

The three cubs have brought fresh excitement to the zoo, taking its total tiger population to seven. Though visitors will have to wait for regular glimpses of the newborns, the cubs are already drawing considerable attention among wildlife enthusiasts and zoo authorities.

Zoo officials said all three cubs are currently healthy and surviving well. Their growth is being closely monitored by a team of experts, with special care being taken during the vulnerable neonatal stage.

The early weeks of a tiger cub’s life are particularly delicate, and neonatal mortality remains a concern in captive breeding programmes. Keeping this in mind, the zoo authorities have adopted additional precautions to protect the cubs from adverse weather and other risks.

Meanwhile, the same tiger pair had produced three cubs last year, of which one died while the other two survived and have since grown healthy. The two older cubs are now housed separately from their parents in another enclosure.

Once the new cubs grow stronger and are considered ready for greater public visibility, their playful movements could become one of the newest attractions at the zoological park.

Forest officials are hopeful that the addition of the tiger cubs will not only strengthen the zoo’s wildlife population but also encourage more visitors and tourists to explore Sepahijala’s diverse natural and animal habitats.
