A pall of sorrow enveloped the Matripalli area of Badharghat, Agartala on Tuesday after three teenagers lost their lives in a tragic drowning incident.

The deceased were identified as Babi Shukla Das (17), Subuam Deb (17), and Shubhajit Dey (15).

According to police sources, the trio had gone to take bath in a pond located near the local Agriculture office when the unfortunate incident took place.

Upon receiving information, Fire Service personnel and local residents rushed to the spot.

Despite prompt rescue efforts, the three teenagers were retrieved in an unconscious state and rushed to GBP Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.

The heartbreaking incident has left the local community in shock and mourning. 

Local MLA Mina Rani Sarkar visited the site soon after the tragedy to take stock of the situation and extend support to the grieving families.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families. 
The Chief Minister also directed the district administration to provide all necessary assistance.
