
Agartala, May 16: The Transform Trust team, serving as the Technical Support Agency for the Department of School Education (DoSE), SCERT, and the TRESP initiative, visited South Tripura on May 13 to review progress under the TRESP–Teacher Professional Development (TPD) programme.
The delegation, led by Mukta Narain Thind (Managing Director, Transform School) and Dr. Syeda Nuzhat Ali (Director of Programmes, T3), along with district representatives Ikbal Hossen (Implementation Coordinator) and Satadal Pal (Training Associate), met Muhammad Sajjad P., District Magistrate of South Tripura, to share updates on the programme’s implementation and progress.
As part of the visit, the team also visited schools in Belonia, conducted classroom observations, and interacted with teachers, school heads, and district education officials to understand on-ground implementation and provide academic support.
The team highlighted that the TRESP–TPD initiative focuses on strengthening teacher professional development, building institutional capacity, and supporting teachers of Classes 6–12 through structured classroom resources, peer learning networks, and self-learning modules.
So far, 13,453 teachers have been trained across Tripura with a 91% participation rate, including over 2,000+ teachers in South Tripura, an official said.
He said, the District Magistrate assured full administrative support for the successful implementation of the programme and reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to improving teaching quality and learning outcomes in government schools across South Tripura.
