TRBT acts swiftly on alleged TET Exam irregularity, two teachers facing action

Agartala, May 07: In a firm move to uphold examination integrity, the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) has launched disciplinary proceedings against two educators — including a headmaster — following reported irregularities during the Tripura Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2024 (Paper-II), held on April 27 last.

The incident in question occurred at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Higher Secondary School in Gomati district. Allegations of misconduct at the examination centre surfaced through local media and quickly gained attention on social media platforms, according to a press statement issued by the TRBT on Wednesday.

Responding promptly, TRBT initiated a formal probe into the matter. Statements were gathered from examination officials, and the District Education Officer (DEO) of Gomati was tasked with leading an independent inquiry. The DEO’s findings, combined with internal assessments by TRBT, formed the basis of a detailed report.

Following a thorough review, the TRBT submitted the investigation report to the School Education Department. Consequently, disciplinary action under Rule 14 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965 has been initiated against two individuals. As an interim measure, both teachers have been shifted from the school to ensure transparency.
