Tripura Agri minister concludes foreign tour, meets global experts

Agartala, Feb 21: Minister for Agriculture Ratanlal Nath attended the International Organic Trade Fair recently held in Germany and met the global experts.
Sharing his visit to Germany and meeting with experts, Nath commented on social media, "Organic farming is not just about producing food without chemicals. It is about nurturing the soil, the ecosystem & the life that we depend on."
The four-day Organic Trade Fair was organized at Nuremberg, Messe, Germany through International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA) from February 13 to 16.
He mentioned, the organic trade fair is organised every year and it serves as a platform for showcasing organic produces from different corners of the world. More than 100 countries participated in the event that unfolded new opportunities for organic agriculture globally.
During his visit to Germany, Nath also met a group of Scientists at The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) - One of the world's leading institutes in the field of Organic Agriculture, at Zurich, Switzerland.
He had productive discussions with the expert about the ways to increase organic farming in Tripura and the different transforming technologies that can be incorporated to gain more yield from the fields.
The Agriculture minister had a courtesy meet with Amir Bashir from Consul Commerce of Consulate General of India at Munich. They discussed about how the organic items of India can be made to put on sale in Germany, about the exports and how the state’s farmers can be benefitted from this.
On the third day of the International Organic Trade Fair, he met Fred Bwino Kyakulagak, Agriculture Minister of Uganda. They had a chat with on both the country's future prospects on organic farming.
Nath also met Gabor Figeejky, Global policy head of organics international, Germany and held fruitful conversations.
