Tripura Minister for Agricultural and Farmers' Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath will inaugurate first-ever State Level Organic Buyer-Seller Conference at a private hotel in Agartala on July 9.
The landmark event, a step toward strengthening the organic agriculture sector, is being organized by the Tripura State Organic Farming Development Agency (TSOFDA) under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Tripura.
The conference will be inaugurated by Ratan Lal Nath, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Tripura, who will also grace the occasion as the Chief Guest.
According to a press release, this pioneering initiative will bring together renowned organic buyers from across India and abroad marking a turning point in Tripura’s efforts to position itself as a hub for organic produce.
The buyers will engage directly with organic Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) from the state, fostering meaningful collaborations and long-term partnerships.
The event will feature an impressive showcase of Tripura’s finest organic agricultural products, including the fragrant rice varieties like Kalikhasa and Harinarayan, the rare Black Rice (Maimi Hangar), Sticky Rice (Biran), the Bird Eye Chilli, Fragrant Lemon (Gandharaj), along with Sesame, Ginger, Turmeric, Foxtail Millet, Queen and Kew Pineapple and many other certified organic crops.
This conference is not only a first for Tripura, but it will also open new avenues for our farmers by directly connecting them with premium markets, the press release said.
It is a major step toward boosting farmer incomes and taking Tripura’s organic identity to global platforms.
