Agartala, July 08: Agartala, the capital of Tripura, is all set to host the business conclave with over 500 national and internation delegates are expected to attend. All necessary arrangements have been put in place at International Fair ground, Hapania, Agartala, where the two-day conclave will be organized, with the objective to accelerate industrial investment in the state, promote trade and entrepreneurship, and connect local industries with national and global markets.
Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region and Communications, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, will be on a one-day visit to Tripura on Thursday.
During the visit, he will attend the Tripura Business Conclave 2026 as the Chief Guest at the International Fair Ground, Hapania, Agartala, where he will address industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs and policymakers.
On the occasion, the Union Minister will share the Central Government's priorities and future roadmap for strengthening investment, connectivity, logistics, industrial development and unlocking the immense economic potential of the Northeast.
Union Minister Scindia's visit is considered an important step towards advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Act East vision and the commitment to a Viksit North East. The Central Government remains committed to transforming the Northeast into a strong growth engine of India's development journey by continuously strengthening infrastructure, communication connectivity, industry, tourism and investment across the region.
It may be recalled that the Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025, held in New Delhi in May 2025, attracted investment proposals worth nearly Rs. 4.5 lakh crore for the Northeastern Region. Of these, investment proposals worth approximately Rs. 23,867 crore were received for Tripura alone.
The Summit also witnessed the signing of several significant Memoranda of Understanding aimed at accelerating the holistic development of the Northeast, many of which have now entered the implementation stage.
The Tripura Business Conclave 2026 marks the next important step in this process, with the objective of expediting the implementation of investment proposals, attracting fresh investments, and giving new momentum to industrial development and employment generation in the State.

Creating new opportunities in Tripura’s investment sector, the two-day 'Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026' will be held on July 9 and 10 at the International Fair Ground in Hapania, Agartala.
Addressing a press conference at the Indoor Hall of the International Fair Ground today, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma said the conclave is aimed at strengthening Tripura's investor-friendly ecosystem and showcasing the state's vast economic potential to domestic and international investors.
The minister informed that along with other guests, Special Secretary to the Cabinet Secretariat Keshav Kumar Pathak and Chief Economic Adviser V. Anantha Nageswaran are expected to participate in the event.
Representatives from embassies and high commissions of several countries, including Bangladesh, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Laos, Kazakhstan, Chile, Nepal, Uzbekistan, South Africa and Maldives, will also take part in the conclave.
More than 300 industrialists, entrepreneurs, and investors from India and abroad have already confirmed their participation. To attract investors, the state government has conducted a series of roadshows in major cities, including New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Guwahati, while a promotional campaign is currently underway in Gujarat.
The conclave will witness participation from leading industrial groups and organizations from across the country. Special focus has been given to sectors such as tourism, healthcare, education, information technology and IT-enabled services (ITeS), renewable energy, food processing, rubber, bamboo, and agarwood.
Key attractions of the event will include sector-specific investment sessions, Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings, and an investment-focused exhibition, providing a platform for direct interaction between investors and government officials and facilitating potential project collaborations.
The state government views the Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026 as more than just an investment summit. It is being positioned as a long-term initiative to establish Tripura as a major industrial, trade, and investment destination in Northeast India. The government expects the conclave to pave the way for substantial investments, new industries, and enhanced employment opportunities in the state.
Secretary to Industries and Commerce Kiran Gitte, Chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Nabadal Banik were also present in the press conference.
