Tripura Assembly session from Sept 19, 4 bills on agenda: Ratan

The two-day-long eighth session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly will begin on September 19 and continue until September 23, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath today.
After attending the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting at the Tripura Legislative Assembly, the Minister said that from September 19 the Assembly session will start.
“Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu has summoned it. As Speaker Biswabandhu Sen is unwell, as per the rules of business of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Deputy Speaker will preside. Today, the BAC report was placed under the chairmanship of the Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Paul in the presence of all the delegations from BJP, Congress, CPIM and Tipra Motha Party. Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury was absent due to personal work but Nirmal Biswas was present . We want to hold discussions for the betterment of the people. Today, a discussion was held that the Assembly will start on September 19 and conclude on September 23,” said the Minister.
The Minister further informed that as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in Tripura for an event on September 22, there will be no House on that day and the business will be held the next day, i.e., on September 23.
“We have taken the decision as per BAC. It will be a two-day session due to Durga Puja, which is the largest festival in the state. Four bills will be tabled on September 19. These include the Tripura State Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, Tripura Jana Viswas (Amendment) Provision Bill, The Factories Bill, and Tripura Shops and Establishments ( Amendment) Bill. Three Private Members’ Resolutions will be there. On the first day, Question and Answer will be there and bills will be placed. On the 1st day, discussions will be held on Private Members’ Resolutions. On September 23, discussions will be held on the four bills,” he informed.
