Tripura Assembly session set to begin on August 27

Agartala, Aug 21: The upcoming session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly will be held on August 27, 28 and 31, with preparations for the three-day sitting reviewed at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) on Friday.
The BAC meeting, chaired by Assembly Speaker Rampada Jamatia at the Assembly Conference Hall, deliberated on the proposed business of the House, scheduling of proceedings and allocation of time for different matters to be taken up during the session.
Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Paul, ministers Ratan Lal Nath and Sushanta Chowdhury, Leader of Opposition Jitendra Chaudhary, Minister Animesh Debbarma and other members of the committee attended the meeting.
The committee discussed the modalities for conducting the proceedings in an orderly and productive manner, while ensuring that members receive sufficient opportunity to raise matters of public and state interest.
With the session scheduled across three days, discussions in the House are likely to focus on issues concerning governance, development and public welfare in Tripura. The BAC also emphasised maintaining discipline and ensuring effective utilisation of the allotted time during the proceedings.
The meeting concluded with a focus on facilitating meaningful legislative discussions and ensuring the smooth conduct of the upcoming session.
