Tripura bags three National Panchayat Awards, CM congratulates

Agartala, Mar 31: Tripura has earned national recognition in the field of grassroots governance as three Panchayats from the state have won the prestigious Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Nanaji Deshmukh Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar 2025, awarded by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha shared the achievement on social media, expressing pride over the state’s strong performance in rural development and Panchayat governance.

According to the Chief Minister, the award-winning Panchayats included- Sepahijala District– Best District Panchayat (Rank 1), Kanchanbari Gram Panchayat, Unakoti, Healthy Panchayat (Rank 1), and Baikunthapur Gram Panchayat, West Tripura, Women-Friendly Panchayat (Rank 3).

The award-winning Panchayats will also receive substantial financial incentives. Sepahijala District will receive Rs. 5 crore, Kanchanbari Gram Panchayat will receive Rs. 1 crore, while Baikunthapur Gram Panchayat will be awarded Rs. 50 lakh.

The Chief Minister congratulated the concerned Panchayats and called the achievement a proud moment for Tripura, highlighting that the recognition reflects the state’s commitment towards strengthening grassroots governance and sustainable rural development.

He further noted that such accomplishments will inspire Panchayats across the state to work more efficiently towards inclusive growth and better public service delivery.
