Tripura BJP announces 10 district presidents

Agartala, Jan 20: The Tripura unit of Bharatiya Janata Party announced its newly-elected district presidents on Monday.
At a press conference, Tripura BJP Observer Dr. Rajdeep Ray announced the names at the state party office. The Pradesh BJP has placed one woman as the party's district rpesident in Gomati.
As per the announcements, the elected district presidents are- North Tripura- Kajal Kumar Das, Unakoti- Bimal Kar, Dhalai- Patiram Tripura, Khowai- Binoy Debbarma, Sadar (Urban)- Ashim Bhattacharjee, Sadar (Rural)- Gouranga Bhowmik, Sepahijala (South)- Uttam Das, Sepahijala (North)- Shri Biplab Chakraborty, Gomati- Sabita Nag and South Tripura- Dipayan Chowdhury.
A total of 74 nominations were filed for the election of district presidents. After scrutiny, 37 were accepted, the state observer said.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee and other state leaders congratulated the newly-elected district presidents.
The Chief Minister said that the BJP is a party with discipline and is dedicated to working for the welfare up to the last man in society through various developmental initiatives.
Dr. Saha emphasized that the primary aim of the BJP is to work for the common people.
"For the BJP, it is the nation first, then the party, and then self. I urge all Karyakartas to adhere to the party's rules and maintain discipline. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been tirelessly working for the welfare and development of the nation, and these efforts must reach the last man in society. I extend my best wishes to all the newly elected District Presidents," he added.
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury was also present during the event.
Meanwhile, some of the new district presidents paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Minster after the official announcement of their names.
