Tripura BJP announces major organisational reshuffle; New state office-bearers, Morcha chiefs named

Agartala, July 21: The Tripura Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced a major organisational reshuffle, appointing a new team of state office-bearers and Morcha presidents following approval from the party's national leadership.

The reconstituted organisational structure includes changes at key positions, with several leaders being entrusted with new responsibilities to strengthen the party's grassroots network ahead of future organisational and political activities.

One of the key appointments is that of Arindam Deb, who has been named president of the BJP Yuva Morcha. Previously serving as the party's social media in-charge, Deb succeeds MLA Sushanta Deb in leading the youth wing.

In another significant change, the party's IT cell in-charge Chandan Debnath has been elevated as a state general secretary.

Former MLA Mimi Majumder, who headed the BJP Mahila Morcha, has been inducted into the state committee as a state secretary. Mousumi Das has been appointed the new president of the Mahila Morcha.

The newly constituted state committee includes Tapas Bhattacharyya, Amit Rakshit, Ratan Ghosh, Ajanta Bhattacharjee, Tapas Majumder and Uttara Debbarma as vice-presidents, while Bhagaban Das, Bipin Debbarma and Chandan Debnath have been appointed as general secretaries.

The party has named Bhumikananda Reang, Kamal Dey, Nabadal Banik, Mimi Majumder, Malina Debnath and Rathindra Jamatia as state secretaries.

Additionally, Nagadhiraj Dutta has been appointed treasurer, M.K. Nath joint treasurer and Mihir Sarkar office secretary.

The BJP also announced new presidents for its frontal organisations. Besides Arindam Deb and Mousumi Das, the appointments include Abhijit Debbarma (ST Morcha), Bapi Das (SC Morcha), Sukanta Ghosh (OBC Morcha), Pradip Baran Roy (Kisan Morcha) and Billal Mia (Minority Morcha).

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, along with senior party leaders and ministers, congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers and Morcha presidents, expressing confidence that the new team would further strengthen the party's organisational base across the state.
