Tripura BJP holds key organizational meeting ahead of VC Polls

Agartala, Sept 2: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tripura Pradesh committee, held a crucial organisational meeting at its state headquarters in Agartala on Wednesday ahead of the upcoming Village Committee elections.

The meeting was attended by BJP national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santosh, national general secretary Biplab Kumar Deb, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, BJP Northeast coordinator and MP Dr. Sambit Patra, Tripura in-charge Rajdeep Ray, general secretary (org) for Tripura and Assam Ravindra Raju, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee and other senior party leaders.

According to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, the meeting focused on strengthening the party’s organisational network, expanding public outreach and chalking out programmes and action plans for the coming days.

Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said ministers, MLAs, state office-bearers, presidents of various party fronts, district presidents and in-charges, and mandal presidents took part in the meeting.

He said discussions centred on further strengthening and energising the organisation, besides finalising the party’s future course of action.

Chowdhury added that the guidance and suggestions provided by the party’s senior leadership would give fresh impetus and motivation to BJP workers as the organisation prepares for the upcoming poll battle, including the Village Committee elections.

BJP state president Abhishek Debroy also shared his views and suggestions regarding various organizational matters in the meeting. 

Meanwhile, it was not yet clear whether the BJP would contest the VC polls in alliance with Tipra Motha. According to party sources, the final decision in this regard would be taken by the central leadership.
