Agartala, Mar 7: With the elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) drawing closer, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stepped up its organisational activities across the state. As part of its preparations, a key strategy meeting was convened at the party’s state headquarters in Agartala on Saturday.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired the meeting, which brought together leaders and representatives of the Pradesh BJP’s Janajati Morcha to deliberate on the party’s roadmap for the upcoming council polls. The discussion focused on strengthening the party’s outreach in tribal areas and outlining the strategy for the election campaign.
Speaking after the meeting, the Chief Minister said the party has already initiated preparatory steps in view of the approaching TTAADC elections. According to him, the interaction with Janajati leaders and party functionaries was aimed at assessing organisational readiness and identifying priorities for the coming weeks.
He noted that the meeting was attended by Janajati Morcha leaders, former members of the district council, party office-bearers and legislators. The participants also exchanged views on how the party should approach the election and what measures need to be taken to further consolidate support in tribal-dominated regions.
Several senior BJP leaders were present during the discussion, including state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Janajati Morcha state president Parimal Debbarma, BJP organisational secretary for Tripura and Assam Ravindra Raju, state general secretary Bipin Debbarma, and minister Bikash Debbarma, among others.
The elections to the TTAADC are likely to take place either by the end of March or sometime in April. Political parties have begun intensifying their activities as the polling schedule is expected to be announced soon.
