Tripura Cabinet approves major recruitment drive

Agartala, June 18: Dr. Manik Saha-led Tripura cabinet has approved recruitment for 469 posts, including several medical officers, according to Minister for Tourism and cabinet spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury.
In a press conference, Chowdhury announced that the council of ministers cleared creation and filling up of 226 posts for General Duty Medical Officers under the Health department. This recruitment will be conducted by the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
Additionally, the Health department will also see the recruitment of 16 super specialist doctors and 172 specialist doctors. The recruitment process will be conducted by the TPSC. Chowdhury said, PRTC is mandatory for the recruitment.
"This recruitment drive aims to bolster healthcare services throughout the state," Chowdhury stated.
The cabinet also approved the filling up of 49 vacant Sub-Officer posts in the Fire and Emergency Services department, to be recruited directly through TPSC. Further, the cabinet cleared the proposal for recruitment of six Food Sub-Inspectors through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT).
In another decision, the cabinet decided to re-appoint 67 retired police officers on a contractual basis. These officers will be deployed to immigration centers at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala, Nischintapur Railway Station, and the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Sabroom. Including these re-appointed officers, the total personnel at these centers will be 85.
Chowdhury added that a proposal will be sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs to designate the airport as an official immigration center, which would pave the way for international air connectivity.
