Tripura CM asks officials for timely completion of housing works

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired the 107th board meeting of the Tripura Housing and Construction Board held at the Secretariat’s conference hall on Saturday.

Highlighting the need for quality construction, the Chief Minister emphasized that the government-built flats must be developed in line with public demand. Priority must be given to maintaining construction quality.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed the timely completion of all housing projects with strict adherence to quality standards. He reviewed the progress of several on-going projects, including the under-construction Tourism and Cultural Hub at Gandhi Ghat in Agartala.

Secretary of the ICA Department Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, briefed the Chief Minister on the current status of the project.

The Chief Minister was also apprised of the progress of key infrastructure initiatives such as the Eklavya Model Residential Schools in various locations, the Eco Park at Mirza, the Grand Stand at Udaipur, a 100-bed Girls’ Hostel in Ampi, and the Youth Hostel at Ambassa.

Additionally, he reviewed the proposal for a new Convention Centre near the Amtali Bypass and emphasized the need for proper infrastructure in all government construction projects in and around Agartala city.

Secretary of the Public Works Department, Kiran Gitte, presented the board’s budget for the fiscal years 2024–25 and 2025–26. Chief Executive Officer of the Tripura Housing and Construction Board, S.K. Rampal, delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the key decisions taken during the previous board meeting and their current implementation status.

Senior officials and board members from various levels of the Tripura Housing and Construction Board were also present at the meeting.
