Tripura CM demands increase in funds under 15th FC for building construction in health sub-centres

Agartala, Aug 16: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended a virtual meeting with Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and discussed various issues related to the state’s health sector on Tuesday.

While interacting with the Union Health Minister, Dr. Saha, who also holds the Health portfolio, placed some demands including central government's cooperation for setting up Critical Care Blocks in district hospitals and increase in allotment of funds under the 15th Finance Commission for constructing building of health sub-centres.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the developmental projects being implemented in Tripura for the welfare of public health sector.

In the virtual meeting with the Health Ministers of different states, the Union Health Minister mainly focused on Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, allotment of funds for different states under the 15th Finance Commission and progress of different states in providing Covid precaution doses.

The Chief Minister also informed the Union Health Minister that according to the SEC list, 95% families in Tripura were already brought under Ayushman Bharat scheme. Besides, discussion for bringing the remaining 5 percent beneficiary families of Antyodaya Anna Yojana under Ayushman Bharat scheme was also held. 

Secretary of Health and Family Welfare department Debashish Basu and State Immunization Officer Dr. Mousumi Sarkar also joined the virtual meeting from the Civil Secretariat.
