Tripura CM joins virtual launching of central health scheme ‘Ayushman Bhava’

Agartala, Sept 13: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who attended the virtual launching of Ayushman Bhava Abhiyan by President of Bharat Droupadi Murmu, said the new initiative would ensure healthcare up to the last man of the society.
Dr. Saha along with Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Health secretary Dr. Debashis Basu and Tripura Mission Director of NHM D.K. Chakma among other officials joined the video conference from the Secretariat.
The Chief Minister, who also launched Ayushman Bhava at the state-level, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government launched the main objective of the new initiative is to deliver healthcare in rural and urban areas and raise mass awareness on various health services.
As part of this initiative, Seva Pakhwada would be observed from September 17, birthday of the Prime Minister, to October 2, Gandhi jayanti, in three phases— Ayushman Apke Duar, Ayushman Mela and Ayushman Sabha, the Chief Minister said.
He also said, the state government has been working with a special focus on strengthening health infrastructure at state, district and sub-divisional hospitals for ensuring healthcare to all.
According to Dr. Saha, Medical College, Dental College, Nursing College and other health institutions are functioning in the state and there is a plan to develop a medical hub in the state. He said, the investors are now showing interest to invest in the state’s healthcare sector.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya along with the Governors and Chief Ministers of various states also virtually joined the launching ceremony.
After launching the state-level programme, the Chief Minister felicitated three Ni-kshay Mitras for supporting the TB patients and three other persons for their commitment to organ donation.
