Agartala, Sept 17: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday visited the historic Mata Tripurasundari Temple in Udaipur and participated in the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme organised as part of the nationwide observance marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.

Dr. Saha, accompanied by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma and BJP state president and local MLA Abhishek Debroy, offered prayers at the revered shrine and lit diyas.

During the visit, the Chief Minister prayed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s good health, long life and continued service to the nation. The programme formed part of the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, being observed in connection with the Prime Minister’s birthday and the completion of 25 years of his public service, including his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat.

In a social media message, Dr. Saha said he sought the blessings of Maa Tripurasundari for the Prime Minister and expressed hope that the divine blessings would strengthen the collective resolve to serve the people and contribute towards building a developed India.

Gomati District Magistrate Rinku Lather, senior officials, elected representatives and other dignitaries were also present during the Chief Minister’s visit.

Meanwhile, as part of the nationwide ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ programme to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, a ceremonial event was also organised at the historic Ujjayanta Palace premises in Agartala.

MP and BJP national general secretary Biplab Kumar Deb, Minister Tinku Roy, MP Rajib Bhattacharya, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, BJP state general secretary Chandan Debnath and Yuva Morcha state president Arindam Deb, along with other party leaders and workers, participated in the programme.

The Ujjayanta Palace complex was illuminated by thousands of diyas, creating a devotional and festive atmosphere on the occasion.

According to official sources, on 17th September 2026 at 7 PM, history was illuminated at the magnificent Ujjayanta Palace premises, Agartala as 50,000 diyas were lit together under Ashirvaad ke Diya  initiative as a part of Seva Sankalp Abhiyan—turning the evening into a breathtaking celebration of light, blessings and togetherness.

As the golden glow embraced Ujjayanta Palace, the celebration beautifully reflected the spirit of service, unity and community participation.
