Tripura CM lays foundation stone for various projects to strengthen transport infra

Agartala, Feb 12: Tripura is set for a significant transformation in its transport infrastructure as Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha spearheaded the launch of multiple development projects worth over ₹40 crore. 

The initiatives aim to enhance connectivity, streamline public transport, and boost economic opportunities in the state.

At an event in Jirania, the Chief Minister, along with Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, laid the foundation stones for five major projects. These include the Jirania Motor Stand (₹13.25 crore), Khowai District Transport Office in Teliamura (₹6.50 crore), Melaghar Motor Stand (₹5 crore), South Tripura District Transport Office in Santirbazar (₹6.50 crore), and Jolaibari Motor Stand (₹5 crore).

A special Bhoomi Pujan ceremony marked the commencement of the Jirania Motor Stand, while the foundation stones for the remaining projects were laid virtually. Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Integrated Parking Complex in Khowai, developed at a cost of ₹4.32 crore.

Highlighting the state government’s commitment to modernizing Tripura’s transport system, Dr. Saha emphasized that these initiatives align with the vision of Viksit Tripura, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development roadmap.

The projects are expected to improve urban mobility, generate employment, and enhance the quality of life for residents, reinforcing Tripura’s journey toward progress.
