
Agartala, June 24: Reaffirming the government's commitment to public welfare and prompt problem resolution, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today interacted with people from different parts of the state in the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme held at the Chief Minister's official residence.
The initiative, aimed at standing beside citizens facing various difficulties and ensuring swift redressal of their grievances, once again reflected the humanitarian and people-centric approach of the state government.
During the programme, the Chief Minister listened to numerous concerns, particularly medical issues, and instructed the concerned officials to take immediate necessary action.
Several families struggling with serious and costly medical conditions met the Chief Minister seeking assistance. Among them were Biswajit Banik of Durga Nagar in Khowai district, whose daughter is suffering from a heart-related ailment; Naresh Debbarma from Amtali, whose daughter has been diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia; Jayashree Dey Chanda of Agartala seeking support for her husband's cancer treatment; and Pratima Rishidas requesting aid for her paralyzed husband.
Others who met the Chief Minister included Bapi Debnath on behalf of his father Priyatosh Debnath of Jolaibari in South Tripura, Uttam Das of Shantirbazar, Kalimohan Das of Lankamura, Dhruba Chowdhury of Hapania, along with several individuals from different areas of the state seeking assistance for medical and other concerns.
The Chief Minister directed officials to take necessary measures for resolving their issues.
During today's programme, the Chief Minister also handed over financial assistance of Rs. 3 lakh 90 thousand each from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the families of Rakesh Shil of Ishanchandranagar, who recently drowned in a river and two-and-a-half-year-old Sattika Sou, who tragically drowned in the Katakhal.
Assuring them of the government's support, the Chief Minister stated that the administration stands firmly beside affected families during difficult times.
The programme also highlighted a notable example of humanitarian intervention through Mukhyamantri Samipeshu. A few days ago, the family of 22-year-old Diptanu Pal, suffering from a rare autoimmune disease, approached the Chief Minister seeking medical assistance. Following immediate intervention and instructions from the Chief Minister for advanced treatment, Diptanu's health has shown remarkable improvement. Once unable to walk, move his limbs, or speak, the young man is now steadily recovering. His family expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister for the timely support and assistance.
Similarly, Bapi Debnath expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister while seeking treatment support for his father's serious liver ailment. He recalled that a year ago, when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, assistance through Mukhyamantri Samipeshu had provided critical support to the family. He said the Chief Minister's continued compassion and support had once again given them hope.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said solving the problems of common people and standing beside them remains one of the government's primary responsibilities. He added that the trust and confidence of the people serve as a major source of strength and inspiration for the government.
Among those present at the programme were Chief Minister's Secretary Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, Director Dr. Debashree Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital Dr. Bidhan Goswami, Medical Superintendent of IGM Hospital Dr. Nirmal Biswas, Medical Superintendent of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Hospital Dr. Shiromani Debbarma and other officials.
