Tripura CM meets PM Modi, proposes AIIMS, additional houses under PMAY for state

Agartala, May 26: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and held detailed discussions on a wide range of development and welfare-related issues concerning the state.

During the meeting, Dr. Saha placed several important proposals before the Prime Minister, including the establishment of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Tripura, expansion of the national highway from Kamalpur to Shantirbazar, development of the dairy industry, strengthening of sports infrastructure, introduction of double railway lines and launching of a Vande Bharat Express service for the state.

The Chief Minister also discussed issues related to employment generation in the technology sector, promotion of tourism, financial matters concerning the state, allocation of additional houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, increase in the number of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS), enhancement of AYY ration cards for the Bru community and greater allocation of natural gas for Tripura.

Dr. Saha expressed optimism that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, coordinated efforts between the Centre and the state government would further accelerate Tripura’s overall development and public welfare initiatives in the coming days.

The Chief Minister also congratulated PM Modi on the BJP’s historic and massive victory in the West Bengal elections, describing it as a reflection of people’s unwavering faith in his visionary leadership and welfare-oriented politics.

According to Dr. Saha, the meeting also included detailed discussions on organisational matters and strategies to strengthen governance, economic growth and grassroots-level party structure in Tripura.

The Chief Minister further conveyed his heartfelt greetings and congratulations to the Prime Minister on completing 12 years of dedicated public service. 

He praised PM Modi’s leadership for bringing transformative changes in India’s infrastructure and for launching flagship initiatives such as Digital India, Swachh Bharat Mission, Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which have significantly improved the lives of millions of people across the country.

Dr. Saha also expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s dedication, guidance and commitment towards the nation and its people.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister presented a photo frame featuring the sacred Tripura Sundari Temple and its newly redeveloped temple complex to the Prime Minister.

He said that after the inauguration of the temple redevelopment work under the PRASHAD Scheme project, a large number of devotees and visitors from across the country have been visiting Matabari to seek blessings of Goddess Tripurasundari, further enhancing the spiritual and cultural significance of the historic Shaktipeeth.
