Agartala, Apr 26: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha proposed that a border multi-speciality Ayush hospital may be set up in Tripura.
He viewed that a good number of people from neighbouring Bangladesh visit Tripura for medical purposes and a border multi-specialty Ayush Hospital, if set up in the state, would be largely beneficial. He also laid emphasis on setting up a Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing unit in Tripura.
Dr. Saha, who also holds the Health portfolio, was addressing the inaugural session of a seminar titled ‘One Earth- One Health: Advantage Healthcare India 2023’ at Pragati Maidan of New Delhi on Wednesday.
In view of the trade opportunities with South East Asia, the Chief Minister in his address further stressed on setting up world-class Yoga and Ayurveda schools in the state.
Tripura would turn into the gateway of South East Asia and the state would have huge trade opportunities once the India- Bangladesh Maitri Setu in Sabroom becomes operational, Dr. Saha pointed out.
Later he tweeted, "Addressed the inaugural ceremony of AHCI 2023 in presence of @mansukhmandviya Ji & @PSTamangGolay Ji. Under the leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji, India’s vision of “One Earth One Health” which involves holistic healthcare for all creatures will help to prevent diseases, reduce cost, improve food security & save lives."
The two-day seminar was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Chief Minister of Sikkim Prem Singh Ramang and others also delivered their speech.
