Tripura CM reviews law and order, health services in Task Monitoring System meeting

Agartala, June 15: Key issues related to law and order, health services, infrastructure development, and public services in Tripura were reviewed by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha during a meeting of the Task Monitoring System (TMS) on Monday.

During the meeting via video conference, the Chief Minister held detailed discussions on strengthening public service delivery with greater speed, transparency, and responsibility. 

Senior officials, including District Magistrates, District Superintendents of Police and departmental officials from all districts participated in the meeting virtually and shared updates on on-going initiatives.

With the monsoon intensifying across Tripura, the Chief Minister directed the district administrations and line departments to accelerate repairs of rain-damaged roads and strengthen essential public services to minimize inconvenience to residents.

Expressing concern over road conditions affected by monsoon, Dr. Saha instructed officials to identify vulnerable stretches and undertake immediate restoration works. He particularly stressed timely completion of the Mohanpur–Subal Singh road project while ensuring quality standards are maintained.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of several on-going development projects and asked departments to avoid delays in execution, especially during the monsoon period.

During the meeting, law and order issues received significant attention. Dr. Saha called for intensified action against drug trafficking and other criminal activities, directing police authorities to strengthen surveillance and keep mobile patrol teams operational across districts.

He also emphasized maintaining security in public spaces, parks, and recreational areas frequented by families and children.

Reviewing the health sector, the Chief Minister instructed officials to maintain cleanliness in hospitals and healthcare institutions and sought reports on the functioning of Primary Health Centres. He asked health authorities to ensure uninterrupted delivery of medical services despite seasonal challenges.

Food safety measures were also discussed. Dr. Saha directed Food Safety Officers to conduct regular inspections of eateries and food establishments to ensure compliance with hygiene and quality norms.

The meeting further focused on urban management issues, including waste disposal, drainage systems, and flood-control arrangements. Officials were asked to monitor the functioning of water pumps and drainage infrastructure to prevent waterlogging in urban areas during heavy rainfall.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the status of LED display screens installed in towns and instructed departments to ensure their proper maintenance and functionality.

Emphasizing the importance of uninterrupted electricity services during adverse weather, Dr. Saha directed the power department to remain prepared for emergency situations and ensure quick restoration of supply in case of disruptions.

Earlier, Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. P.K. Chakraborty interacted virtually with District Magistrates from all eight districts to review key issues under the Task Monitoring System.
