Agartala, Aug 3: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday reviewed the progress of pond restoration and beautification works at Prabhubari and Madhyapara area of Agartala as part of the state government's ongoing initiative to develop a clean, green and more sustainable capital city.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister assessed the status of the ongoing projects and reiterated the government's commitment to restoring urban water bodies while improving the city's environmental health and civic infrastructure.

Highlighting the progress made so far, Dr. Saha said that restoration and beautification of around 35 ponds across Agartala have already been completed during the tenure of the present government. He added that work on the remaining projects is progressing steadily and directed the concerned officials to ensure timely completion of all pending works.

The pond restoration programme forms a key component of the state's broader urban development strategy aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, conserving water resources and creating cleaner, more attractive public spaces in the capital.

Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder, corporator Ratna Kar Dutta, senior officials of the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) and other representatives accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection.
