Tripura doctor creates eco-friendly environment in hospital, sets example

Agartala, Apr 24: A medical officer in Tripura has entered the limelight for his innovative efforts in creating an eco-friendly atmosphere in a healthcare facility where he is posted.
If anyone visits Manu Bazar Rural Hospital in South Tripura district, an eco-friendly environment will be there to greet him/her.
Apart from ensuring healthcare services to the people, the Medical Officer in-charge Dr. Debojyoti Majumder beautifully decorated the hospital with the waste materials including Covid vaccine boxes.
The hospital offers a home-like feel to the patients visiting the hospital for their wellness.
Medicinal plants are being grown in front of the hospital, a small zone for amusement of the children has been created, a worship place has been set up in a corner of the hospital, a washing machine has been made available for cleaning the clothes of the patients and hygiene is maintained in the kitchen at the highest level- a kitchen chimney is also there in the hospital.
The medical officer also created a small museum where the patients can get an idea of human anatomy. Apart from the medical equipment, the existing additional facilities also include a gym, cabin and emergency auto/ ambulance service for the patients. Besides, an Ayushman counter is functioning in the hospital.
While such Health & Wellness Centres narrate the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for delivery of healthcare up to the last mile, the innovative ideas of medical officers like Dr. Debojyoti Majumder for making the hospital green and clean sends a strong message to the society. With the initiatives taken by the concerned Medical Officer, the Manu Bazar Rural Hospital is setting an example in rural healthcare of the state and bringing smile to the patients.
