Tripura doctors perform critical surgery, CM hails

Agartala, Dec 28: A critical surgery performed by the medical team of AGMC and GBP hospital could save a precious life on Wednesday morning.
An iron rod that was pierced through the neck and mouth of a person in a freak accident was removed successfully in the surgery. The patient- Krishnadhan Podder, resident of Dukli area and a driver by profession, is stable now.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr) Manik Saha hailed the successful surgery and congratulated the medical team.
The team included ENT specialist Dr. Tarun Guha, Dr. Tanmoy Deb, Dr. Satyakam Chakraborty, Dr. Sayantan Rudra Pal, anaesthesiologist Dr. Vaskar Majumder, Dr. Bidhan Das and Dr. Biswajit Sutradhar along with OT Assistant and staff nurse.
The successful surgery not only brought smile to the patient and his family but also reflected the improved health system.
Meanwhile, an official source said the healthcare sector of Tripura witnessed a robust change over the past few years.
