Tripura first in NE, second in country in implementing PM KUSUM Scheme

Agartala, Aug 27: Tripura is first among North East states and second in the whole country in implementation of PM KUSUM Yojana.
Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma shared the update onnhis official Facebook handle and congratulated the implementing agency- TREDA.
The Deputy Chief Minister has inaugurated solar pumps under PM KUSUM Scheme at Borkubari (Bisramganj) in Sepahijala district of Tripura as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
Total 11 solar pumps have been installed in the fields for farmers to irrigate their crops.
The actual cost of 1 HP pump is Rs. 2.50 lakh-- central government is giving 50 percent subsidy 50 percent and Tripura Govt is giving 48 percent subsidy. The beneficiaries share only Rs. 2,500 to avail the facility.
According to the Deputy Chief Minister Tripura is the only state in the country to provide this subsidy for PM Kusum solar pumps to help the 'Annadatas' double their income.
In the inaugural ceremony, District Magistrate, Sepahijala- Vishwasree B among other dignitaries was present.
