Tripura gets post-devolution revenue deficit grant of Rs. 368.58 crore

Agartala, Sept 06: Centre has released 6th monthly installment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant of over Rs. 7,183 crore to 14 states including Rs. 368.58 crore to Tripura on Tuesday.
The 13 other states are- Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
Of the total amount, nearly Rs. 1,132 crore has been released to West Bengal, Rs. 1,197 crore to Kerala, Rs. 879 crore to Andhra Pradesh and Rs. 781 crore to Himachal Pradesh.
The Finance Commission has recommended a total Post Devolution Revenue Deficit Grant of Rs. 86,201 crores to the 14 states for the financial year 2022-23.
The grant is released by the Department of Expenditure to the recommended states in 12 equated monthly installments.
With the release of 6th installment for the month of September, 2022, the total amount released to the states in 2022-23 has gone up to around Rs. 43,100 crore. (with PIB and AIR News inputs)
