The Tripura Chief Minister's Office (CMO) swiftly responded to a report- mysterious disappearance of a state's girl student in the national capital.
The 19-year-old girl from Tripura's Sabroom- Sneha Debnath is a student of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College under Delhi University. She reportedly went missing since the early hours of July 7.
According to the missing girl's family statement on social media, Sneha had informed her mother that she would be accompanying her friend, Pitunia, to Sarai Rohilla Railway Station early that morning. Her last contact with her mother was recorded at 5:56 AM.
Concerns grew when Sneha’s phone was found switched off by 8:45 AM. The family later discovered that Pitunia had not met Sneha that morning as planned.
Tracing her movement through available leads, the family contacted the cab driver who confirmed that Sneha was dropped off near Delhi’s Signature Bridge—a location notoriously known for safety concerns and critically, lacking functional CCTV surveillance. This has created a significant challenge in reconstructing her movements, according to family sources.
The incident came to the attention of the Tripura Chief Minister's Office, which promptly directed police to take all necessary measures.
"The report of Miss Sneha Debnath, a resident of Sabroom, who has reportedly gone missing in New Delhi, has come to the notice of the Chief Minister's Office. Following this, necessary instructions have been promptly issued to the police to take immediate and appropriate action,” read a statement from the CMO’s official social media account.

On July 9, a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team conducted a thorough search within a 7-kilometre radius of the Signature Bridge area at the request of the Delhi Police Crime Branch. Despite their efforts, no conclusive trace of Sneha has yet been found.
Family members have pointed out that Sneha had neither carried any belongings nor withdrawn cash in the last four months—her bank balance remains untouched, raising further concerns about her wellbeing.
Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as the search intensifies.
