Tripura Governor attends ‘Adivasi Baul Utsav’, motivates students to aspire higher achievement

Agartala, Oct 11: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu attended the Cultural Programme and Adivasi Baul Utsav-2026 held at Shri Gouranga Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School, Debcharan Bairagipara, Kendraicherra in Jampuijala on Sunday.

The programme was organised by Shri Gouranga Seva Ashram in collaboration with the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs. Addressing the gathering, the Governor highlighted the significant contribution of Shri Gouranga Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School in shaping young minds over the past 38 years.

He observed that the institution has been imparting not only academic education but also laying a strong foundation for life through character building, moral values and holistic development. The focus on character building, value-based education and holistic development is exactly what our nation needs today, the Governor said.

Encouraging students to aspire to higher achievements, the Governor urged them to prepare for competitive examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and pursue careers in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other prestigious services.

The Governor also appealed to parents and students to explore educational opportunities available through Eklavya Model Residential Schools and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.

Speaking on the occasion, Bikash Debbarma, Minister for Tribal Welfare, emphasised the need to preserve and protect the rich heritage, culture and religious traditions of tribal communities.

He described these traditions as integral to the identity of tribal society and stressed the importance of passing them on to future generations. Among those present at the programme were Supriya Das Datta, Sabhadipati of Sepahijala Zilla Parishad, Diwakar Borah of UPJSS, Bhanu Pad Chakraborty, VicePresident of VHP, Dharma Charan Malsom, Mahaguru, and Ramya Debbarman, Janajati Sant.

The welcome address was delivered by Sachin Kalai, Secretary of Shri Gouranga Seva Ashram, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Barendra Debbarma, President of Shri Gouranga Seva Ashram.
