Agartala, June 22: Emphasizing the importance of quality education and holistic child development, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Monday conducted an extensive visit to educational and child care institutions in Gomati district, interacting with students, teachers, caregivers, and children.
The Governor began his tour at PM Shri Tepania Colony Higher Secondary School in Udaipur, where he was welcomed by district officials. As part of the visit, he planted a sapling on the campus and inspected academic and infrastructural facilities of the school.
Addressing students, the Governor encouraged them to remain focused on their studies and develop the confidence needed to face future competitive examinations. The school programme featured yoga demonstrations and cultural performances, including patriotic dance presentations by students.
During his interaction with parents and teachers, Nallu stressed the collective role of educational institutions and families in shaping responsible and capable citizens.
Continuing his tour, the Governor visited Alor Dishari Shishu Nibas at Amtali under Kakraban, where he spent time with resident children and enquired about their education, daily activities, and overall well-being. The children welcomed the Governor warmly and presented handmade souvenirs as tokens of affection.
He later inspected Balak Shishu Nibas at Khilpara in the R.K. Pur subdivision, reviewing the facilities and support systems available for children residing at the institution. Officials briefed him on various welfare initiatives being implemented for the care and development of the children.
Speaking after the visits, the Governor said the state government remains committed to ensuring access to free education and comprehensive support services for children, enabling them to grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
The visit was attended by senior officials, including Social Welfare and Social Education Department Special Secretary Tapan Kumar Das, Additional Superintendent of Police Rishav, Gomati District Magistrate Rinku Lather, and School Education Department Director-in-Charge Asim Saha, along with other district administration officials.
