Agartala, Sept 28: The Governor of Tripura, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, listened to the 138th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at Lok Bhavan, Agartala, on Sunday.

The Governor listened attentively to the Prime Minister’s address along with officers and employees, their family members, security personnel and CRPF personnel posted at Lok Bhavan.

The occasion provided an opportunity for the officers, employees, their family members and security personnel to participate together in the nationwide engagement associated with ‘Mann Ki Baat’. 

The programme also served as a platform to hear and appreciate the Prime Minister’s message on matters of national importance, social initiatives and inspiring contributions from people across the country.

Speaking to the media, Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu said that through ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi brings before the people various developmental activities, achievements and initiatives taking place across the country. The programme also highlights important issues of public concern and encourages citizens to remain aware and alert and to participate actively in nation-building.

The Governor said that through ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister has consistently urged citizens, particularly the youth, to contribute towards the development and progress of the nation. He emphasized that collective participation and responsible citizenship are essential for building a stronger and more developed India.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s message on ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’, the Governor said that the Prime Minister has repeatedly called upon citizens to come forward and contribute to the efforts to make the country free from drug abuse. He urged people to take active initiatives to create awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and work collectively towards building a drug-free society.

The Governor also highlighted the Prime Minister’s emphasis on promoting the ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) initiative through ‘Mann Ki Baat’. 

He urged the people of Tripura to make greater efforts to popularize the unique products of the state and give them wider recognition in national and international markets.

In this regard, the Governor called upon the people of Tripura to promote the state’s rich bamboo resources and traditional bamboo products, as well as locally produced and indigenous edible items.

The Governor’s participation underscored the importance of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as a platform that connects citizens across the country and highlights inspiring grassroots initiatives and stories of public participation. Secretary to the Governor, U.K. Chakma, was also present at the programme.
