Agartala, Jan 13: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu visited the Dhalai district headquarters in Ambassa on Monday and inspected an under-construction drinking water project at Kamalacherra.
The Kamalacherra region has been facing a prolonged drinking water crisis. To address this issue affecting a significant portion of the local population, the state government is installing deep tube wells.
The Governor closely observed the ongoing construction of the project and held detailed discussions with officials from the concerned departments.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, the Governor expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project. He emphasized that the state could explore utilizing the water from its numerous rivers to establish large-scale drinking water projects.
While such projects may require substantial initial investment, he highlighted their long-term sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
The Governor was accompanied by Dhalai District Magistrate and Collector Saju Wahid, along with senior officials from the Drinking Water and Sanitation and otherĀ departments.
