Tripura Governor visits state's famous tourist destination Narkelkunja

Agartala, June 18: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu visited the state's famous tourist spot Narkelkunja on Tuesday.

Nestled on the vast 41 sq km Damboor Lake, Narkelkunja is one of the most beautiful tourist locations in Tripura.
After seeing the beauty of thos tourist destination, the Governor advised modernization plans with improved facilities including development of cottages.
He also laid emphasis on generating employment opportunities to the local youths.
As part of his visit to Narkelkunja, the Governor interacted with the members of women-run Self Help Group working in the tourist spot.
District Magistrate, Gomati- Tarit Kanti Chakma, SP Namit Pathak, Director of Tourism Tapan Kumar Das and other officials accompanied the Governor during Narkelkunja visit.
Meanwhile, the scenic beauty of the Dumboor Lake, situated on the confluence of rivers Raima and Saima, added more attraction to Narkelkunja, one of the 48 beautiful islands.
The government has already initiated multiple plans to develop Narkelkunja as the world-class tourist destination. Earlier, the Tourism department introduced facilities like Jet Ski (water scooter), water sports activities and floating jetty at Narkelkunja to attract the tourists. Another plan is in the pipeline to facilitate the tourists visiting this beautiful spot with House Boat facility. Helicopter service has already been launched connecting this magnificent island. 
Narkelkunja has started getting global attraction after the Brand Ambassador of Tripura Tourism and former Indian cricket team skipper Sourav Ganguly promoted this location on social media platforms.
