Agartala, July 16: In view of the present Covid situation, the Tripura government has imposed a weekend curfew on Saturday and Sunday-- from 6 am of July 17 to 6 am of July 19 next.
The existing Corona Day Curfew (2 pm to 6 pm) from July 19 to July 23 in Agartala Municipal Corporation and 11 other Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) has also been extended with no change in the previous guidelines.
The 11 Urban Local Bodies are- Ranirbazar Municipal Council, Jirania Nagar Panchayat, Khowai Municipal Council, Kailashahar Municipal Council, Dharmanagar Municipal Council, Belonia Municipal Council, Kumarghat Municipal Council, Teliamura Municipal Council, Amarpur Nagar Panchayat, Panisagar Nagar Panchayat and Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat.
According to the notification, Corona Night Curfew (6 pm to 5 am of next morning) has been extended in the entire Tripura with effect from July 19 to July 24.
“The situation has been reviewed in detail and it is felt necessary to extend Corona restrictions and Weekend Curfew in the state,” the notification said.
Tripura has registered total 72,860 positive cases and 720 deaths due to coronavirus so far. While 67,865 patients have already recovered, the number of active cases stands at 4,209 till July 16, according to an official report.
The positivity rate and the recovery rate are 5.14 percent and 93.22 percent respectively.
As of now, the state has administered total 28,08,661 doses of Covid vaccine—21,26,208 people have received the first shot and 6,82,453 people among them also received the second dose.
