Agartala, May 13: In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal to conserve fuel and promote work-from-home practices, the Tripura government has issued austerity measures aimed at reducing expenditure across state.
According to an official statement from the General Administration (Administrative Reforms) Department, department heads (HoDs) have been directed to ensure that only 50% of Group C and D employees report to offices each day, while the remaining staff will work from home.
The government has instructed HoDs to prepare weekly rosters for these employees, giving priority to staff living near their offices for the first week. Employees working from home must remain accessible via telephone and other communication channels and report to the office if urgent work demands their presence.
The directives extend to all PSUs, local bodies, autonomous and statutory agencies, and other subordinate offices under the state government. However, offices and employees providing essential or emergency services are exempt from these measures.
Undersigned by A.K. Bhattacharya, Special Secretary to the Government of Tripura, the new instructions take effect immediately and will remain in force until further notice.
