Tripura govt plans modern infrastructure project at Jute Mill area, Pranajit inspects site

Agartala, May 22: Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Thursday said the state government is moving ahead with a new vision and plan to transform the widely known Jute Mill and its adjoining areas into a modern infrastructure hub.

During a visit to the proposed site at Hapania in Agartala along with senior officials, the minister said the initiative aims not only at infrastructural development but also at safeguarding the interests and future of employees working at the Jute Mill.

He stated that the government is giving serious consideration to various facilities and long-term welfare measures for the workers while preparing the modernization plan.

According to the minister, the proposed infrastructure project will feature state-of-the-art amenities, extensive seating arrangements capable of accommodating a large number of people, and adequate car parking facilities.

Expressing hope over the project, Singha Roy said the modernization of the Jute Mill adjoining area is expected to bring significant changes in the state’s overall development, generate employment opportunities, and contribute to the creation of modern urban infrastructure.

IT Secretary Kiran Gitte, IT Director Jiya Raghul Geshan, and other officials were present during the site inspection.

Meanwhile, the Minister along with the officials also visited the proposed site for the upcoming IT Park along Amtali Bypass Road, Agartala.
