Agartala, Oct 05: Fulfilling the long-standing demands of the journalists, Tripura government has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 78 lakh for installation of lift for Agartala Press Club.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha announced this while speaking to the reporters in the sideline of an event on Saturday.

The Chief Minister said, “There has been a long-standing demand for the installation of a lift at the Agartala Press Club. Today, I have signed the file. We will spend approximately Rs 78 lakh on this project. The government has taken this decision for the welfare of journalists." 

He also mentioned that many people have faced difficulties due to the lack of a lift, and the work would commence soon.

The announcement brought a wave of happiness among the members of Agartala Press Club. Secretary of the Agartala Press Club Ramakanta Dey conveyed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for this decision.
