Tripura Govt sincere towards farmers’ welfare: Agri minister

Agartala, Mar 15: Tripura Minister for Agriculture Ratanlal Nath on Friday said the present state government is committed towards the welfare of farmers.

After inaugurating new Agri facilities at Amarpur and Karbook, Nath also said, the state government is taking various steps to double the farmers’ income.

He inaugurated a Village Knowledge Centre at Rangamati of Amarpur and Agri Development Research cum Training Centre and new building of the office of Agri Superintendent at Karbook.

Speaking at Amarpur, the Agriculture minister highlighted distribution of Agri equipment and other benefits among the farmers including coverage under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

He said, the new facility developed at an expenditure of Rs. 75 lakh at Rangamati would largely benefit the local farmers in terms of receiving advice on scientific methods of cultivation.

At Amarpur, MLA Ranjit Das, chairman of Amarpur Nagar Panchayat Bikas Saha, chairman of Amarpur Block Panchayat Samiti Manti Debnath Rudrapaul and Director Dr. Phanibhusan Jamatia were present.
