Tripura govt sincerely working for Janajati development, says CM

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Agartala, Sept 23: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said the present state government has been working sincerely for overall development of Janajati people.
 
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Ter, the festival of unity, organized by Khumpui Cultural Academy at Swami Vivekananda Maidan on Saturday evening.
 
The two-day festival showcased vibrant culture, traditional foods and attire of the 19 tribes of Tripura. A good number of artists from other places also joined the festival.
 
Traditional tribal foods remained one of the key attractions in the festival.
 
Addressing the event, the Chief Minister said, this colourful festival organized by the Khumpui Cultural Academy would strengthen the message of 'unity in diversity'.
 
He also spoke about the state government’s initiatives for the welfare of Janajati areas.
 
The Chief Minister said, the state already received funds under Externally Aided Projects and it would be spent for development of twelve aspirational blocks.
 
He also said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy ensured progress of the North East region that was neglected for years previously.
 
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, Panchali Debbarma of the organizing body, and other officials and dignitaries were present in the inaugural ceremony.
